Frequently Asked Questions

EQdrill

Why do I hear some slight, audible delay in EQ change when I'm switching between filters?

Try checking your buffer size on your audio interface, and if kinda high, try lowering it, as if you were trying to optimize for a "low latency" situation (e.g. recording).

Trials and licenses

How long does the trial period go for?

The trial period lasts for 20 days, with most features being available right away. Exceptoin being that reset heatmaps aren't being stored.

How can I activate my license key?

After you've acquired a license key, it's about selecting it within EQdrill (license window). Assuming your device has internet access, license activation should work automatically by contacting our license server and reserving a device slot for the given license key.

EQdrill says all my device slots are already taken. What to do?

Normally this shouldn't happen after acquiring a license ekey and using it for the first time on your device. But in case you've already used a given license key on two other devices, the now third device might show such an "all device slots already taken" information.

To resolve this, you can log into your user account (on this website) and free up a device slot. Afterwards reselecting the license key within EQdrill will try again and obtain that freed up device slot.

Can I use EQdrill offline?

Yes, the trial period can be used offline. Furthermore, we support offline activation for licenses (if desired).

How does offline activation work?

In case offline activation is required, EQdrill's license window will show a button labeled "offline". Clicking this button will open the "offline activation" window, describing step by step on how to perform offline activation.

To repeat that information, basically like this:

  1. Create "slot request file" ('gbslotreq') via resp. button.
  2. Using another "online device", upload "slot request file" to account page ("licenses" tab).
  3. Download from account page "slot confirmation file" ("licenses" tab).
  4. Transfer to offline device (with EQdrill on) and select slot confirmation file ( '.gbslotconf' ).

This should take care of offline activation.

What types of licenses are being offered?

For this, please refer to "license agreement" (footer), specifically following sections:

  • "License types (Standard and Site)"
  • "License variants (NFR)"

I've lost my license key! How to get it back?

By default, after purchasing a license key, it's being sent to you via email. Upon pasting this license key into EQdrill's license window, it will be saved to a file inside EQdrill's config folder (OS dependant; see documentation).

In case you lose both this locally saved license key and the resp. email, you can still download you license key from your user account.
