Player

The player area should feel familiar if you've ever used a DAW or other audio editing / viewing software.
Click the play button or use 'spacebar' to toggle play/pause state, position the play cursor via LMB click.
When it comes to volume, it is intentionally not at 100% in order to leave some headroom for EQ boosts during training. But of course you can adapt it as needed.
EQdrill also provides an auto-mute feature in case the output volume goes too far into the red (always on). If this "peak detection, auto-mute" feature ever kicks in, just lower the volume setting a bit and unmute the player. Don't worry, there will be a certain recovery time during which it will first make sure that it's no longer peaking and only then the audio output will be enabled again.
Why would it happen that volume goes into the red like that?
It could be one of the following scenarios:
- volume slider is being pushed too far for the given audio track
- volume in combination with applying a "boost" becomes too much
In both cases one would back off the respective setting that lead to the problem and toggle off 'mute' (which also clears the peak meter's clip indicator; can also be cleared manually via mouse click).
Other player features
There's also support for the following:
- markers (set, jump, delete, sort)
- waveform zoom, both horizontal and vertical
- cursor seeking
All these actions can be accessed via the waveform's right click menu, but we encourage you to learn the associated keyboard shortcuts and mouse modifiers. These can be found both in the right click menu, as well as in the Controls window.
Holding LMB while horizontally dragging the mouse will draw a time selection, which will make the playback loop.
It can be cleared again via the respective button (icon shows a time selection with an "x" in it), or via shortcut 'shift + v'.
As always, use the Controls window to find out all available keyboard shortcuts and mouse modifier interactions.
In this case, search for "player:" to see them all.
